ChatGPT GIF Maker Guide
Plan the motion, make the frames, then export a loop.
A ChatGPT GIF maker workflow starts with a clear animation idea. Available image and file tools can vary by account, so choose the route that matches the tools you can actually use.
1. Describe a repeatable action
Ask for one subject and one motion: “A cat waves one paw, then returns to the first pose. Keep the camera and background fixed.” Avoid introducing a new scene halfway through a short loop.
2. Request a frame sequence
If your chat can produce separate images, ask for numbered frames with identical canvas size, framing, and background. Download each frame as PNG. Check the subject stays consistent from one image to the next.
3. Combine the frames
Open the free converter below, add the PNGs in order, and start with 0.2 seconds per frame. Use the arrow buttons to reorder frames. Add a return pose at the end if the animation jumps.
Open the PNG converter ↗4. Preview and download
Play several loops before downloading. A visible pause usually needs a shorter frame delay; a sudden jump usually needs a better final pose. Check the file size before sharing in a chat or presentation.
Choose your route
| Route | Best for | What you supply |
|---|---|---|
| ChatGPT + converter | Planning and assembling frames | Separate PNG images |
| This site’s AI maker | Creating a new animation from text | A motion prompt; verified account required |
| PNG converter | Combining existing artwork | Your own PNG sequence |
Why is my GIF still?
A GIF can contain a single image. For movement, export at least two visibly different frames. Renaming a PNG file to .gif does not convert or animate it.
